Time Management: How to Do Everything

Time Management: How to Do Everything

"Time is the true currency
of the 20th century"
(C) Brian Tracy

These are not just nice words. You can earn a lot of money, find new partners, buy any number of beautiful and expensive things, but you can never make up for the time spent on something. As the human lifespan is limited, our precious time should not be wasted.

Time Management: How to Do Everything

You may ask, "How can I save my time when there are so many things to do?" If you are a leader or want to become one, bear in mind that delegation of authority is one of the successful entrepreneurs' intrinsic features. Try to share all the responsibilities with your associates from the very beginning of your career, and do not overwork. Otherwise you can wallow in the routine, or fail to cope with the operational and strategic objectives equally well. To avoid this, give yourself the most pleasant part of the job, i.e., your business development and search for new sources of revenue. Small but important assignments should be handed over to responsible, but less ambitious employees.

Time Management: How to Do Everything

If you are used to doing things on your own, the main problem is, HOW to delegate your authority. What if someone else does not cope with the work as efficiently as you do? However painful it may be, you will have to part with most of your duties, otherwise you will never be a leader. This can be done very easily with our simple, but very effective method of time management.

Use a special notebook for putting down everything you do every 20 minutes of your hard working week. At the end of the experiment, you will get a real chronicle of your workflow. The main thing is to stick to the selected time interval. One or two weeks are enough for you to see what operational objectives "swallow up" your global plans, and what can be sacrificed in favour of larger projects. Besides, you will understand what tasks do not require your direct involvement, and easily hand them over to some of your less experienced followers. With your experience and skill, you are fit to conquer new heights.

This experiment is good because it has no expiration date, and can be repeated as many times as you need. If you keep finding new tasks you can entrust to others, you are steadily climbing upwards. Thus you save your precious time for more important things in your business.
